I finally got around to reading this. At first I was a little weary with the POV shift and the length, but like you said, we see more of the pieces on the game board and how this might all fit together! Also, definitely felt the next generation rising to take their place sort of feeling, which I liked! (reminded me a bit of the TV show Merlin).

Also, siblings! Yes. I did notice in your other books your protagonist were onlys and the most dynamic relationships in the books (to me at least, and besides the protagonists to themselves) was the girls and their mothers. But, in this one Odessa's relationship to her mother is not on stage so to speak (though it is in between the lines!). So bringing in a sister is a new dynamic I haven't seen form you yet and I look forward to it!
I Also look forward to learning about Odessa's squire years. Please be writing that now so I can read it next, thank you. :)
